Clinical Substance Use Disorder Services

These core services include substance abuse assessments, individual counseling, and family therapy.  All core services are available to all clients admitted to STS, as needed.

Assessment

An integral part of the treatment process is the completion of a comprehensive assessment of each client seeking assistance at Somerset Treatment Services.  A clinician will administer a comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessment that will include the following: medical, psychosocial, vocational, educational, behavioral, legal, health, and self-care needs of the client.  Particular emphasis is placed upon identifying the problems, needs and strengths of each client.  This assessment identifies the expectations of the persons served, is responsive to the needs of that person, and results in the development of an individualized treatment plan. 

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is scheduled according to the needs of the client and permits individuals to address needs specific to their individualized treatment plan.  Every client of the agency is assigned to a specific counselor who will provide individual sessions and coordinate other aspects of a client’s care.

Family Counseling

Family counseling sessions are also scheduled according to the needs of a client and his/her family members, where clinically appropriate.  Family Support Groups are also provided on a monthly basis.
