Intensive Outpatient Treatment Services

Somerset Treatment Services offers three distinct Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) programs, which provide nine hours of substance use disorder treatment per week.  These include educational groups, therapeutic groups, and individual counseling sessions.

The Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are:

Pathways to Parenting - An intensive program for women who are DYFS-involved or at risk of DYFS-involvement.  Gender-specific groups are provided, including parenting groups. Childcare is provided, as needed.

Intensive Outpatient Program - This program is open to anyone in need of a more intensive treatment afforded by this service, and may follow residential or detoxification services, but is not required to follow that level of care.

MIOP (Methadone Intensive Outpatient Program) - This program responds to the unique needs of the opiate-addicted population.  Groups are based upon standardized tools proven to be effective and appropriate for this population.

Admission Criteria / Process / Fees

Candidates can self-refer to this program or can be referred through various sources. Initial contact should be made with IOP Coordinator, Wendy Summers at (908)722-1232 X3018 or Pathways to Parenting Coordinator, Sharon Rosenweig (908)722-1232 X3017.  Some basic information will be taken and information about the programs will be provided.
IOP Intake fees are $50. IOP applicants may apply for sliding scale fees; full fees are $60 per night.  MIOP rates are bundled rates (all services combined) at $60 per week.

If an applicant is found to be eligible for Pathways to Parenting, there are no fees charged for that program.
